State Representative Matt Knoedler currently represents House District 22, comprising a portion of southern Jefferson County. He is running for Senate District 21, which includes most of the City of Lakewood, to ensure that his community remains a safe place to live and raise a family. He served on the House Business Affairs and Labor Committee as well as the Transportation and Energy Committee where he gained a reputation as an advocate for small business and lower energy prices. He also worked hard to protect the rights of families to choose the education that is best for their children, including the right to home school.

Rep. Knoedler was elected to office at the age of 29 and is the second-youngest member of the state legislature. Prior to his election, Rep. Knoedler served as a Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Bill Owens, acting as the Governor's liaison on transportation, energy, environment, and veterans affairs issues. He started his career as a Legislative Correspondent to Lakewood Congressman Dan Schaefer and later as a top aide to Littleton Congressman Tom Tancredo, becoming his Legislative Director in 2001.
Matt and his wife, Ariahn, live on Green Mountain in Lakewood. Matt works as a policy advisor at a law firm, is also a licensed real estate agent, and coaches youth ice hockey in his spare time. Ariahn is a financial advisor and is vice-president of the Green Mountain Kiwanis Club.
