Dr. Ron Tate is a third-generation La Plata county native. He is a candidate for Senate District 6, in Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, Montrose, Ouray, San Juan, and San Miguel counties (Southwest corner of the state).
Ron enlisted in the United States Army in 1981 and served in South Korea. After returning home, he attended Ft. Lewis College where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He went on to get his graduate degree and Doctorate, and in 2000 founded Water Solution, a water quality consulting business where he serves as president and owner. Ron, and his wife Christina, have home schooled their 7 children successfully for a number of years, and he states that his philosophy of government is weighted heavily by the intent of the founding fathers. He fully believes the words and ideals of our Declaration of Independence, that the details have changed these two hundred plus years, but the principles are the same and will serve us as well today as they did then.
