Editor's note: This is what Justin Everett has to say about himself.

Growing up in Senate District 22, I've been an active member of our community for almost 30 years. Jefferson County is a great place to raise kids, and I want to keep it that way.
After earning a Masters Degree in Business from the University of Colorado, and a Law Degree (JD) from the University of Denver, I started a company in the Columbine area that assists small businesses with start-up, growth and strategic management issues. Currently, I'm a certified volunteer mediator for Jefferson County courts, and am developing a flat-fee mediation/arbitration service to help small businesses solve disputes and save money in the process.
My other activities include, being the current President of the Council of Homeowners for A Planned Environment (COHOPE) - an umbrella organization of about 25 Homeowners Associations in South Jefferson County. In 2004, I served as the Regional Director for the 96-Hour get out the vote effort in State House District 28, where turnout increased by over forty percent. Colorado Republicans elected me to be a Delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2004, during the most important election in over 20 years. Other accomplishments and activities include being a graduate of the Leadership Program of the Rockies (Formerly known as the Republican Leadership Program), and a Bonus Member for Jefferson County to the Republican State Central Committee. Over the past 12 years, I've worked for candidates both locally and the state level. On the national level, I worked for the Republican National Committee in Washington, DC.

A Quality Education is A Right, and Children are The Future of our Country

After growing up and living in this community over the last 30 years, I care deeply about making sure all of our children have access to a quality education. Whether it's at home, parochial, private, charter or public - we should have the ability to use OUR tax dollars to shop and pay for the best possible education for our children. Local control should consist of parents sitting around the kitchen table with their children, choosing which educational option best suit their needs not the government. I am an advocate of School Choice and will work to better the educational choices available to children and their families.

Strong Families Develop Through Values and Tradition

American society has flourished from having a tradition of strong families with strong values. Over the past few decades, we've seen the erosion and redefinition of the traditional family. We must reverse course, the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman is paramount to the future of American society. We must have a society where the sanctity of life is recognized and adoption is an option.

This is my home, and has been for almost 30 years

Senate District 22 is my home. Growing up and living in the District for almost 30 years, shows my commitment to this District and I want to give something back.

We Need to Get Government off the Back of Small Businesses

Small businesses are the backbone of both Colorado's and the nation's economy. Owning a small business in this community and working with small businesses has taught me first hand that government is no friend of business. Small business owners spend as much time complying with government regulations as they do trying to make a profit. We need someone in the State Legislature that understands the needs of small businesses, and has the background and ability to rein in big government.
