State Representative Ken Summers (R), Lakewood, is running for re-election in house district 22. He is a native of Colorado and served as a pastor for 28 years before running for his state house seat. Ken started his career as a high school teacher and has served on a public school board. He is a strong supporter of educational choice for parents including home schooling. He has attended two Christian Home School conferences and believes that parents have the right to educate their children at home without the government determining who is and who is not qualified. Ken's wife Debbie is a hospice nurse, they have been married 32 years. They have two adult children who are married, who are both involved in local church youth ministry. Ken and Debbie have three grandchildren.
