I am Sueyuna Duthie, candidate for State Senate District 28. My husband Matthew Duthie and I are the homeschooling parents of three daughters ages 13, 7 and 2. We are registered with Schema Christian Academy and we fall under the private school option doing home instruction. We are also registered with The House on the Rock, a dynamic homeschool support group, and are members of HSLDA.
I have been the private home instructor of our daughters for eight years. Previously, I taught at St. Andrews Lutheran School in Denver.
It is a private Christian school. I served as a career coach at Manual High School back in the late '90's in the eleventh grade classroom. My experience in education also spans to the university level where I served as the diversity program coordinator for college freshman at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
I did my teaching practicum in elementary education in the 2nd grade classroom at Jewell Elementary in Aurora, Colorado. My experience in education is broad in its scope ranging from montessori education through the university level. I believe that school choice is a freedom that we must defend. I support The Hearth Fund's 5 principle's of freedom.
